Our Vision: To be the strategic lead for veteran services in Military City, USA

Strategic Plan

San Antonio and its surrounding areas represent a large and diverse community.  Within Bexar County and the 12 other counties in the Alamo Region, we have one of the largest military and veteran populations in the country.  In fact, Bexar County has the 6th-largest veteran population in the country, and has the highest veteran population percentage of any county in Texas at 11.8%.  Serving the needs of our military and veteran population in ways that will make the biggest positive impact on their lives requires the development of a comprehensive strateic plan, and MVCC seeks to do so in partnership with key stakeholders in San Antonio.  As a first step, MVCC recently published the first-known San Antonio-area military and veteran Needs Assessment in order to establish priority areas of need and better understand their root causes.  Through our Solution Team and Advisory Council partners we've begun analyzing that assessment and performing the work of outlining a future plan to ensure long-term improvement to better support our service members, veterans and their families.
